Class Descriptions

A varied selection of Yoga stretches suitable for all levels. Hatha yoga is a traditional form of yoga that aims to balance mind and body by combining physical stretches and breathing techniques, meditation and relaxation.

A yoga class described as ‘Hatha’ will typically involve a set of physical postures (yoga poses) and breathing techniques. It’s a gentle form of yoga where we move steadily through each movement, practicing our balance, strength and being mindful as we go.
Some people wonder if they’re flexible enough to do Yoga, but don’t worry, you’ll start from where you are and improve as you go along. If you take your time and go gently you’ll find each session is like a little service for your body, leaving you freer, more supple and relaxed as you go through the weeks.

So, lots of bodily benefits to be had by making time in the diary for a good stretch each week
Lastly, if you’re philosophically minded or interested in meditation, your yoga can become an avenue to and expression of the meditative qualities you find in your practice.

Awareness Through Movement (ATM) - The greater your mobility and the more movements you can perform, the more capable you become. In these video classes you will be guided through a series of movements and you will understand how you put these movements together. Each class offers a different series of movements, for example, eyes, neck, jaw, shoulders, knees, and you'll learn to increase your mobility with every class you take.
Meditation is where the game is really at. Often it can feel tedious or boring to begin with, and may even appear to be of little value or even unattainable. The key is to take your time,  a little like learning a new language. You are so much more than just your thoughts,  you're subtle, complex, magical and awe inspiring. Given time and the right approach you'll discover yourself in meditation, you'll discover that what you really are is mind-blowing.  The meditation + mindfulness classes on Wednesdays are taught by author and lecturer Emma Mills

 

Style: Small classes, friendly and enjoyable style, suitable for all levels and led by experienced teachers.

 

Location:  All the Yoga classes are held at One With Nature Yoga Studio in The Minster Chambers, Southwell, except for on Monday evenings when the Yoga class is held at Thurgarton village hall.

 

Class Times: For in person classes you pick one class and that’s your home class, for example, you might choose Monday morning as your home class, and if one week you can’t make it to your usual class you can swap to another if there is room.

 

Monday Morning Yoga  9 - 10.15 am *

Monday Evening Yoga 6.30 - 8.00 pm

Tuesday Morning Yoga  - 9 - 10.15 am

Tuesday Evening Yoga 7.30 - 8.40 pm

Wednesday Morning Meditation - 9.30 - 10.30 am (RSVP with Emma for this Zoom session)

Wednesday Evening Yoga - 6-7pm

Thursday Morning Yoga  - 9 - 10.30 am

 

Online/Offline: We stream most of our classes on Zoom, which means you can tune in online if you prefer to take your yoga class from home occasionally. Or Zoom in while you travel or take holidays, as many of our members like to do. The Wednesday morning meditation class with Emma is held on Zoom rather than in person. As a weekly member, you'll get complimentary access to all classes streamed on Zoom + enjoy 24/7 access to our online library of over 170 video and audio Yoga and meditation classes.

 

 

 

 

Your Tutor: Having pushed myself in sport and recreation you'll find experiences in our classes and library that will improve your performance, make you laugh and possibly touch your heart. I've helped thousands of clients and myself overcome pain and dysfunction. Hence you'll find some great practical solutions to various problems. I have been a dedicated Yogi for over 3 decades. I'm an honest human being with a broad experience in life, having carried the one question for several decades. I am now so totally thrilled to share this with you.

Tuesday pm, Wednesday am and Wednesday pm classes are mainly presented by yogi, mindfulness author and psychology lecturer, Emma Mills.

 

Fees: The classes cost £12.00 each, and you book your place at class four weeks at a time (£48.00)  To get started please join our rolling monthly membership below. It bills every 4 weeks so you don't have to remember to keep booking your place, but you can cancel it anytime quite simply from your members page. If you'd like to come to 2 in person classes a week, the fee is £18.00 a week.

 

Reduced Fees: We also offer a lower class fee of £10.00 per class (£40.00 a month) for regular members which you are welcome to take up.  The reduced class fee allows for the classes Emma and I miss teaching you when we need to take holidays/leave over the course of the year. This way you'll pay less for each class, but you won't be refunded on those weeks when we take our holidays during the year (8 weeks)

 

How To Get Started: Simply sign up for classes, and when you get your confirmation email, reply to us letting us know which in person class you'd like to come along to and we can share any details you might need. Please feel welcome to bring your own Yoga mat, however we do have have plenty of Yoga mats here for you to use at the studio

 

What Happens If I Can't Make It To My Booked Class?

We'll reserve your place at class four weeks at a time, and while we can't refund missed or cancelled classes, if you can't make your usual class you are more than welcome to swap to another class that week, send a friend in your place or pick up an extra class another time. As a member you will also get full complimentary access to all Zoom classes as well as to our online Yoga video library which is full of fab classes you can take from home or while traveling.

 

Private Yoga Classes and Tuition

Private Yoga sessions are a great way to speed up the learning curve, ask questions and set a plan or routine in motion for your Yoga. They can be just for you, or for you and a partner. Private Yoga sessions are available with both Emma and Adam and can be arranged either online or in person here in Southwell.
